El Jardín Botánico de Valencia se encuentra delimitado en dos de sus lados por edificaciones de más o menos solera. Las que recaen en la parte más profunda, son edificaciones más antiguas pero con reciente rehabilitación. Y a su lado, la parte posterior de la Casa de la Caridad, una institución centenaria dedicada a la atención de los más necesitados. El encuadre de la acuarela recoge algunas de esas terracitas que recaen al Botánico, y que gozan por tanto, de unas vistas de privilegio. Estamos en Julio, la temperatura es alta y el sol aprieta con intensidad. Los jardines ofrecen una sombra, una frescura y una paz, difíciles de conseguir en medio de tantos kilómetros de asfalto y de innumerables edificaciones.
